Description
Korina as a tone wood came to prominence in the late 1950s when some new radical and futuristic shaped, PAF loaded electric guitars emerged from Kalamazoo. Whilst these shapes proved too radical for the market at the time, they have since become iconic. The Korina Dakota pays homage to those trailblazing guitars in a more ergonomic single cut package. This version delivers the sweet high/mid tones and spank synonymous with Korina, in a cool Heavy Aged Factory Black finish, worn through to allow the amber beauty of the wood to show through.
This Dakota is loaded with the new Ivison in-house manufactured pickups – a development that allows the Ivison team to tune the pickups specifically to suit the guitar. This guitar features the classic Ivison ’59 PAF set, inspired by those sought after late 50s korina models.
Comes with a Hiscox hardcase and certificate of authenticity.
We’ve used this Dakota as part of our Ivison demo fleet for the last few months, so it has had a few hours use in the studio and on stage. Despite this, the instrument is in as-new condition – the only evidence of use being a slight dint in the Hiscox case.
