Ivison Hurricane ’59 Aged Faded Burst

With the Hurricane ’59 Ivison Guitars have taken their Hurricane shape and added some familiar ’59 appointments in a nod towards to the hallowed ’59 ‘Burst that is its inspiration, including carved maple top, ’59 profile neck and Ivison ’59 Spec PAF pickups.

This example has been crafted specifically for customers who are looking for a classic single cut but prefer a lighter weight than is possible with the traditional all-mahogany construction. This guitar has an obeche body paired with a mahogany neck – the result is a spectacular guitar that looks and plays like a ’59 should, but weighs less than 7lbs. Tonally the obeche lends the guitar a brighter top end whilst sacrificing some of the low/mid grunt associated with an all-mahogany guitars, In a band setting the extra top end can provide valuable cut-through.
